As a reader of the Nicholas Sparks book, “The Last Song,” I found it hard to take my mind away from the book during this movie. The movie itself was alright to watch once or twice but no more. The Last Song left out a lot of important events from the book which might’ve helped guide this movie in a better direction. For a lot of people, the problem was Miley Cyrus.. For me personally, I didn’t find her a major distraction. She did an okay job of portraying Ronnie Miller, but yet, someone else could’ve been more suited to the roll itself. Overall, the movie was kind of cheesy but warm-hearted when it wanted to be. I give it a 6/10. My tip for anyone interested in seeing this movie is: you might want to read the book first.. It will give you a greater understanding of the emotion this movie could’ve had.
